Govt Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK) is one of the best Engineering colleges in Kerala which is affiliated to Calicut University. The college was a new one and was established in 1999 with a motto of "Viswasam Abhimanam Nirnayama" which means "Trust, Pride, Decisiveness" in English. Govt Engineering College, Kozhikode offers B Tech and is affiliated to University of Calicut.
Govt Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK) is located in a place known as West Hill near to Vikram Maidan and Govt Polytechnic. The college is situated between West Hill- East Hill road. Admission to Govt Engineering College, Kozhikode (GECK) is purely based on merit. The placement is based on the rank of the candidates secured in Kerala Engineering Examination (KEAM) conducted by Kerala Entrance Examination Council in Kerala every year. All the admission process is based on Centralized Allotment Process (CAP).
There are also admissions for lateral entry students who have completed their diploma in specified branch of Engineering. They will be admitted from 3rd semester onwards and that also based on lateral entry examination rank merit conducted by Kerala entrance department. College have a large library with all section of engineering books along with magazines, periodicals etc. Library itself is classified to reading room, reference rooms etc. College also has a well equipped Center for Computing Facility which is available full working hours.
GECK also have special conference rooms and Edusat rooms for special functions and technical conferences. Every class is an eclass or smart class with WiFi facility for internet surfing. Colleges also have well equipped labs and workshops and quality staffs.
