Amal Jyothy College of Engineering, Kottayam, an institution of higher education, is now one among the famous private self financing engineering colleges in Kerala. The college which is established in 2001 is owned and managed by Diocesan Educational trust, Kanjirappally. Amal Jyothy College of Engineering, Kottayam has the affiliation of Mahatma Gandhi University and is recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The college which is constructed in 46.40 acres of land with a built up area of nearly 10000.00Sq.m is located at Koovapally in Kottayam and is 45 km from the district head quarters. The nearest railway station is Kottayam, which is 45 km from the college.
Rev Dr Jose Kannanpuzha, is the present principle of prestigious institution. Within a limited period, the college caught the affiliation for various branches from the MG university and now it holds the credit of having more number of courses on a single college. It also holds the credit of highest intake of up to 800 students for B.Tech in its 9 branches. For the best result, proficient tutors are appointed in each branches and only talented and highly qualified members are selected as the faculties on the college. The first year B.Tech result of the college in 2013 with 78% of overall pass is the best compared with the neighboring colleges. The college also boast of its Entrepreneurship Development Centre, which is the first and only engineering college in Kerala.
Mode of Admission
Likewise other MG University Engineering Colleges, mode of admission to Amal Jyothy Engineering College, Kottayam is also based on merit. Among all seats of various affiliated courses, 50 % of the seats is filled on the basis of MG University allotment and remaining 50% is on the management and NRI quota.
