It is very exiting to know that an IPL team for Kerala in the name of Kochi has been come to reality. After long terms of discussions and controversies BCCI has given the green signal for Kochi IPL team to play in the fourth season of Indian Premier League starting in the month of April 2011. The ownership of the team has been changed to Kochi Cricket Private Limited. During last four months, the Kochi IPL team was in the threat of being disapproved and many of the members in IPL committee including Lalit Mody was against Kochi team. But it was BCCI who hold the team in their safe hands ans was satisfied with owner notices and give the permission for the team to pad up in the next season of Indian Premier League.Share Holders of Kochi IPL Team
It was the Rendezvous Sports, who made a bid in the auction for the Kochi IPL team and owned the team franchise. But after the board meeting in 5th December 2010, the ownership has been changed to Kochi Cricket Private Limited. The share of Sunantha Pushkar in the team has also been changed. Now, most share of Kochi IPL team is owned by Parinee Developers. Other share holders are Anchor Earth, Film waves Combine, Anand Shyam Estates, Vivek Venugopal and Rendezvous Sports. The sponsors are in search for good players for the team. Besides the home cricketers from Kerala, the team may lack good members from Indian main squad. Many of the established players like Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Saurav Ganguly, Anil Kumble, Rahul Dravid have their own home teams and it will be hard to get these players in Kochi IPL team. The fate of Kochi IPL team mainly depends on the players of Kings XII Punjab and Rajasthan Royals since these teams got out for next season of IPL. But the Sahara Warriors from Pune is also in tough competition to get those players. Malayalee fast bowler S Sreesanth is having a great desire to be the part of his home team.
