Kerala State School Youth Festival will be getting underway from 17th to 23rd Jan 2011 in Kottayam. It is considered to be the biggest school fete in the entire Asia.

51st Kerala State School Youth Festival will get under way from 17th to 23rd Jan 2011 in Kottayam. State school Kalolsavam is coming back to Kottayam after 14 years. The inaugural procession will start at 2 pm on 17th, Monday from Gandhi Square, Thirunakkara. It will proceed through the K. K. Road and will reach Police Parade Ground. V. S. Achuthanandan, Hon. Chief Minister, will inaugurate the Kalolsavam and the first event will start by 6 pm at the main venue.
Ten thousand participants accompanied by about 30,000 teachers / parents are expected to take part in the events. The fete will have 17 venues, and will last 7 days and 6 nights. Over one lakh visitors are supposed to witness the events.
Sundari Mayil is the Mascot for this festival.
The Police Club Ground near the Civil Station will be the main venue. Following is the list of venues:
