Kozhikode Champions in Kerala State Youth Festival 2011
As expected, Kozhikode won the 51st Kerala State Youth Festival Trophy for the 5th time straight. Kozhikode secured 819 points, while Thrissur had to be satisfied with second place with 776 points. Kannur is in 3rd place with 767 points.
Kozhikode Champs in the State School Youth Festival 2011
Kerala State School Youth Festival concluded in Kottayam with Kozhikode winning the the Trophy for the 5th time straight. Thrissur came in second with 776 points. Kannur secured 767 points, Palakkad 763 points and are placed in 3rd and 4th places respectively. Ernakulam had to be satisfied with 5th place, and hosts Kottayam is in 6th place.
Durga HSS, Kanhangad won the overall championship. MKNMHS, Kumarapuram, Idukki is in second place. Durga HSS came first in the Higher Secondary segment and second in the High School segment, thus winning the overall championship. St. Therasa's AIHSS, Kannur came first in High School segment.
Chief Minister VS Achuthanandan inaugurated the valedictory meeting held at Police Parade ground in Kottayam, with Education Minister M.A. Baby presiding over the function. Yesudas presented the gold cup to the winners.
Flag was handed over to Thrissur, where the next festival will take place. As happened before in Kozhikode, the cup suffered damages in the milling crowd when it was taken to the office of a famous media house in Kerala.
