Akkulam Tourist Village is located at about 10 kilometers from Thiruvananthapuram, the capital city of Kerala. Akkulam Tourist Village is a beautiful picnic spot and well known as a backwater destination in the city too.
About Akkulam Tourist Village The serene and the beautiful picnic spot has been developed on the banks of the Akkulam Lake, which is just an extension of the Veli Lake of Thiruvananthapuram. You can try your hand at Boating in the lake, Paddling in the paddle pool and a nice little well equipped Children's park as well.
The calm and serene atmosphere in the area holds a fascination for the locals as well as the tourists. The Akkulam Tourist village is open from 10 am to 5 pm in the evening.
How to reach Akkulam Tourist Village You have to reach Thiruvananthpuram first either by air or by rail. The city is well connected with the rest of india by connection flights and trains from Jammu in the north to Kanyakumari, in the south of India. Almost all of these trains run through Thiruvananthapuram.
Thiruvananthpuram airport is situated at about 7 kilometers from the Akkulam tourist village. Swimming suit is compulsory at the pools of the tourist village.
