About the collegeBaselious Thomas I Catholicose College of Engineering and Technology, an emerging private self financing engineering college, owned and managed by Jacobite Syrian Christian Fellowship Trust (JESCF), Koothattukulam. The college which is established in the year 2011 is affiliated to MG University, Kottayam and has the approval of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. The campus which spread across 10.20 acres of land with a built up area of nearly 6400 Sq.m is located at Koothattukulam near Piravom Railway station and is 48 km from the district headquarters. Dr Ranjit Abraham, an experienced person holds the present principle position of this institution. Also the college is blessed with proficient faculties in each of its 5 department.
Mode of Admission
Mode of admission to various engineering courses in the college shall be regulated on the basis of merit. Among the total number of seats available for different courses, 50% of the seats is filled on the basis of allotment from MG university and the remaining 50% is on management and NRI quota.
Eligibility criteria : Students should pass in All Kerala Entrance Examination (paper 1 and paper 2) conducted by the government of Kerala and also a pass in final year of the qualifying examination with a minimum aggregate of 50% for the subjects such as Mathematics, Physics and chemistry.

B.Tech in Civil Engineering : 60 seats: Civil Engineering, one among the most chosen branches by the students, can be regarded as the science that involves the study of various natural resources and the constructional activities taken with them. Civil Engineering skills will be needed for any area you choose, be its design, planning, construction etc. and hence it offer s you a wide range of career options. In BTCC, 60 seats are avail for civil Engineering department along with a set of proficient faculties having industrial and academic experiences.
B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering : 60 seats: As a branch of various disciplines, Mechanical Engineering has come a long way providing ample of job opportunities all over the world. Mechanical Engineering can be regarded as a technology that build the quality of a nation. Automobiles, air-conditioning, motors, escalators, elevators, refrigerating systems etc. are the visible signs of the skills of Mechanical Engineers. In BTCC 60 seats are avail for mechanical engineering with fully equipped laboratory facilities.
B.Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering : 60 seats: Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the oldest and broadest branch which mainly deals with the study of electricity and their utilizations. Tremendous development taken place in this field during the last few decades shows its scope in the present world. In BTCC, 60 seats are avail for Electrical and Electronic Engineering. Also the branch is blessed with a set of proficient faculties.
B tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering : 60 seats: Electronics and Communication Engineering is a very fast field which mainly deals with electron devices and their utilization. Earlier this field was a part of Electrical Engineering. But tremendous advancement in semiconductor technology and e-commerce gives it a separate place in Engineering and now continuing its advancement. Major application areas of Electronics and Communication Engineering include instrumentation, medical electronics, entertainment, wireless communication, general communication etc. BTCC provide a total of 60 seats for this department.
B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering : 60 seats: Computer Science and Engineering is a highly demanding course which have scope both present and future. This field is interesting for those who love computer. Also the areas of job opportunities are wide for this course such as information technology, system administration, banking etc. BTCC provide a total of 60 seats for this branch along with a number of smart computer labs. Library: As far considering a good college, library is essential for moulding the students with great knowledge resources. The central library inside the college occupies large volume of books including magazines, periodicals and news papers.
