Malayalam film Adaminte Makan Abu wins national award for the Best Film in 58th National Award 2011. Malayalam actor Salim Kumar won the 58th National Award for Best Actor for Adaminte Makan Abu. The Film got four national awards including best film, best actor, best cinematography and best background score.

Malayalam films once again shined during the announcement of National Awards for film. Malayalam Film Adaminte Makan Abu was selected as the best film of 58th national Awards for films. Veteran Malayalam actor Salim Kumar wins the award for best actor in 58th National Award announced in 19th May 2011. The Same film got two more awards. An award was presented to Madhu Ambattu for the Cinematography of Adaminte Makan Abu. Issaac Thomas Kottukappalli was also awarded for Background Score for this film. Malayalam film industry has once again proved its quality defeating Bollywood, Tamil and Telugu Film Industry.
The best Malayalam film award was presented to "Veettilekkulla Vazhi" directed by Dr. Biju. Veteran Malayalam Actress Sukumari was also awarded for Co- Actress in 58th National Award. The actor's award for this section goes to Thambi Ramayya for the tamil film Myna.The director of the Tamil Movie Aadukalam, Vetrimaran was selected as the best director of 58th national award. Tamil Actor Dhanush was also given the best actor award in 58th National award. Marati actress Madhali and Tamil actress Saranya Ponvarnan.
