Malayalam is the official language used in Kerala state of India. The latest news regarding Malayalam language is that it is made mandatory in schools. Now the state government had issued an order making this Malayalam language, a mandatory subject in our Kerala schools.
So for Malayalam language in public schools there will be 8 periods & in oriental schools there will be three periods. Remember that these 3 periods will be held during Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday respectively.
The order also contains details regarding the period distribution for learning Malayalam, teaching text books & conducting examinations etc. As a result the number of teachers & related Malayalam periods will be raised.
The education department has asked the concerned directors to give reports regarding the teaching of Malayalam in state VHSC's & to make this language a mandatory one in other higher secondary schools. With this order there will be an opportunity to study Malayalam language in all Kerala schools.
