Soorya Festival Begins on 21st September 2011
The very popular Soorya Art Fest will start on 21st September 2011. As this fest got this popularity because of its cultural value and this fest should be considered as the longest cultural fest ever in the world. This is the 35th Surya Fest.
The 35th Soorya Art Fest, Thiruvananthapuram edition 2001-2012 will begin on September 21st Wednesday on Kalabhavan theater, Thiruvananthapuram. The fest will inaugurate by Mayor K. Chandrika. The details of the fest were announced by Soorya authorities, Soorya Krishnamoorthi, Gopalakrishna Pillai and Adv. Steephan by Press meet.
On the inaugural day there will be a drama 'Samudranadanam' presented by Samudra and screening of film 'Electra' directed by ShyamaPrasad. Kalabhavan theatre is the venue of Malayalam Film Fest and Painting exhibition till 28th September. The main attration of the Fest is the dance- music fest by experts. The venue is Panchayat Association Hall. This will be from October 1st to 10th. The dance-music fest will be qualitative with the performances by Yesudas, Padma Subramaniyam, Shobhana and Lakshmi Gopalaswami in various days.
The honor to a legend called as "Gurupooja" will be given to great dramatist P. K. Venukuttan Nair on October 5th. The drama fest will begin with the presentation of 12 dramas directed by Soorya KrishnaMoorthy. On drama fest there will also perform the dramas directed by Kavaalam Narayana Panicker. The drama fest will be at Hassan Marakkar Hall. As an encouragement to growing talents the program is conducted called "Muttathe Mulla" will be at Municipal Auditorium from October 28th to 31st.
The event "Jalsa Khari" will be packed with the performances of 10 great musicians within and abroad India. The Indian Panorama Film Fest will begin on November 21 st and the video fest will be at December. The venue is Kalabhavan Theater. The event which is enriched with the Carnatic music named as "Sindhubhairavi" will be start at December 6th.
The Soorya fest is well-packed with the cultural and theatrical programs like dance, music, films, dramas, exhibitions, speeches etc. The session in Thiruvanthapuram will conclude on January 10th 2012.
