Haj 2011 - Three additional flights for Kerala Haj Pilgrims
Saudhi Arabian Airlines will operate additional three flights for Kerala Haj pilgrims for Haj 2011. The three flights will leave from October 2 and 3 from karipur Airport. The pilgrims who travelling in additional flights will pay additional Rs 1800.
Saudi Arabian Airlines decided to give additional three flights for Kerala haj pilgrims. The three Haj flights will start from Karipur airport on October 1 and 2. Two flights will leave from October 1 and other one on october 2.The pilgrims selected by Governments special quota can go through these flights. In total thirty flights will carry 8300 pilgrims from Kerala,Lakshadweep,Mahe this year.More pilgrims are from Kozhikode district(2470, Malappuram(1875, Kannur(1059,Ernakulam(629),Kasaragod(463),Wayanad(420),Pathanamthitta(36).
The additional flights directly go to Jeddah but other 27 flights will carry pilgrims to Medina.So the pilgrims travelling in new three flights will pay additional cash Rs 1800. So pilgrims travelling additional flights must go from Jeddah to Medina. However all return flights will be from Jeddah.
The first Haj flight went from Karipur airport with 300 pilgrims. Union Minister of State External Affairs E.Ahammed Flaged off the first flight on 10.30 am September 29..The second flight schedule was 1.45 pm on same day. The Kerala Muslim cultural committee appointed 1000 members for helping Kerala Haj pilgrims in Jeddah and Medina. Haj pilgrims will give Vaccination from Moulana Azad Vocational Training Centre. The pilgrims will be allowed up to 45 kg in Check-in baggage and 10 kg in hand baggage. All baggage of pilgrims collect by Saudhi Airlines from their room during return journey.
