The Parumala Church is a famous church located in Kerala state, India. The latest news regarding Parumala Church is regarding its annual festival. From 26 October 2011- 2 November 2011, the annual festival of St Paul's & St Peter's Church, Parumala will be held. Majority of the Kerala people are familiar with the fact that this famous Parumala Church is located on the banks of the river Pampa. On 26 October 2011, the annual festival of this Parumala Church begins with a flag hoisting ceremony. But at 2 PM on that day itself, Geevarghese Mar Osthathios(Senior Metropolitan of Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church) & Youhanon Mar Chrysostomos(Metropolitan of the Niranom Diocese) will be leading the ceremony that will be conducted at the Parumala Church itself.

The week-long annual pilgrimage to the tomb of St Gregorios, who was the first saint of Parumala Church, will be inaugurated by Baselius Mar Thoma Didymus 1(Senior Catholicos of the East) in a function that will be held at 3PM. The function will be presided by Mar Osthathios & the keynote address will be delivered by Jiji Thomson IAS. Another fact is that there will be a 144 hour continuous prayer session. This prayer session that begins at 5 PM under the support of the Malankara Orthodox Youth Movement will be inaugurated by Youhanon Mar Polycarpus. Apart from this, it should be noted that the holy Eucharist that should be celebrated during the annual festival of Parumala Church will be leaded by Metropolitans Kuriakose Mar Cleemis, Joshua Mar Nicodemus, Geevarghese Mar Ivanios, Paulose Mar Pachomios, Youhanon Mar Polycarpus, Youhanon Mar Chrysostomos & Youhanon Mar Dioscorus.

Cultural meet, Sangeetharchana & free medical camp at Parumala Church


llOn 28 October 2011, a free medical camp will be held at the Parumala seminary auditorium. The 91st birthday fete of senior Catholicos will be inaugurated on 29 October 2011 by Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose 11(Catholicos of the East & Malankara Metropolitan). Following this, there will be an environmental awareness seminar, which will be inaugurated by Mar Chrysostomos. On 30 October 2011, there will be a cultural meet, inaugurated by K. S. Radhakrishnan(Chairman of PSC). On 31 October 2011, the procession by pilgrims will be given reception at the Parumala church. After that, a youth meet will be inaugurated by Youhanon Mar Polycarpus. A felicitation meeting will be held on 1 November 2011. The music program named 'Sangeetharchana', held at 5PM on 1 November 2011 will be inaugurated by Blessy, the famous film director.

109th feast of St Gregorios on 2 November 2011


On 2 November 2011, the annual church fete as well as pilgrim week of the famous Parumala church will come to an end. There will be a tri mass at the church, which will be leaded by the Baselius Mar Thoma Paulose 11. The centenary celebrations of the Malankara Catholicate will be inaugurated by the senior Catholicos. The keynote address will be delivered by Sukumar Azhikode., famous writer as well as orator. As we all know there will be different processions of the believers, coming from different parts of our God's own country. All these processions reach this Parumala church to offer their prayers at the tomb of St Gregorios.
