IIFI 2011 Goa -Seven Malayalam films selected to Indian Panorama

Seven Malayalam films have been selected to the Indian Panorama section of the 42nd International Film Festival of India (IFFI). The films were selected by the jury headed by renowned filmmaker Ms. Sai Paranjpye. 23 feature films have been chosen out of a total of 118 eligible entries for the Indian Panorama Section.
Malayalam film 'Adaminte Makan Abu', directed by Salim Ahmed, which won Best Feature Film award at the 58th National Film Awards is the 24th film of Panorama, getting the direct entry. The seven other Malayalam films are Urumi (Dir: Santosh Sivan), Melvilasom (Madhav Ramdas), Traffic (Rajesh Pillai), Chappa Kurishu (Sameer Thahir), Bombay March 12 (Babu Janardhanan) and Karmayogi (VK Prakash).
The Non Feature films were selected by the jury chaired by well-known writer-director Ashok Rane.
21 films have been selected which includes a Malayalam film ' A Pestering Journey ' directed by K R Manoj. Urumi has also been chosen as the Opening Film of Indian Panorama 2011. In the Non-Feature Film section, 'Adwaita Sangeeth' (Hindi, Dir: Makarand Brahme) has been selected as the Opening film. The 42nd International Film Festival of India 2011 at Goa commences on 23rd November and will last to 3rd December.
