Special award programs are waiting for winners.
The Malabar Natural History Society (MNHS)is going to conduct a bird race for bird watchers in Kochi, Kozhikode, Tiruvananthapuram. It will be held on November 13. It is conducting in relation with the birth anniversary of Salim Ali, the Bird man of the India. The Bird race is Organised by Hong kong and shanghai banking co- operation(HSBC), Kerala Birders and Yuhina Eco-Media.
Actually it is great opportunity to freshers and students to show their skills. The Kerala Bird race will be conducted at same time in Kozhikode, Thiruvanthapuram and Kochi. The main goal of the Kerala Bird race to make an awareness among the public about birds and habitats and their conservation. Warblers and Waders and Nature Educational Society in Thrissur,Malabar Nature History Society and Kottayam Nature Society will provide all helps for this event.Rules and Regulations
Each team contains four member and replacement of members are not possible. Each team can watch birds within 100 km radius area from starting point. There is no predetermined path for this event. The bird race start from 6 am and end at 5.30pm. Participants must keep a record with them which should contain the information about watched birds during this race. The Bird race must terminate at Hemlet Hall of hotel yaara 6 pm. Then there will be a meeting for presentation of each team about their observation.
The Kerala Bird Race will analyse and publish results by three special adjudicators. senior naturalists or conservationists and experienced bird-watchers are considered as adjudicators.
