Sam Pitroda to mentor Kerala on development

Kerala Government has decided to appoint Mr. Sam Pitroda as mentor for Kerala's development plans. The decision is come from ministers cabinet held on November 16. Currently Pitroda is a advisor to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on innovation and public information infrastructure. Mr.Sam Pitroda agreed to become mentor for Kerala after meeting with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy at Mumbai. According to Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Mr.Sam Pitroda going to do free service for Kerala state. As part of this, he will conduct a discussion with ministers and other famous personalities. Satyanarayan Gangaram Pitroda was born on 4 May 1942. He is famous as a policymaker, an entrepreneur and inventor. He had been great role in India's communications revolution. Mr. Pitroda holds has about 100 key technology patents. He is the founder of C-SAM Inc, headquarters in Chicago. It has branches in Mumbai, Vadodara, London and Tokyo. In 1984 he removes Avoid nationality as special request from Indhira Gandhi. Moreover he worked as Rajiv Gandhi technology adviser in 1984 .In 1992 he worked as adviser for United Nations. He was leader for the technological missions on literacy, dairy, water, immunization, telecommunications and oilseeds. Later he was Chairman of the National Knowledge Commission in 2005–2008. During this year he submitted more than 300 recommendations for development of our country. He had got number of achievements and awards in his life. Padma Bhushan in 2009, Dataquest IT Lifetime Achievement Award in 2002 and Rajiv Gandhi "Global Indian" award in 2009 are the some of them.
Sam Pitroda was born in Titlagarh, Orissa. His parents are good fans of Gandhian Philosophy, So Pitroda and his brother went to Gujarat for studying Gandhian philosophy. After completion of school life from Vallabh Vidyanagar in Gujarat, he joined in Maharaja Sayajirao University in Vadodara for Master education in Physics and Electronics. Then he migrated to United States for master degree in Electrical Engineering from Chicago based Illinois Institute of Technology. During 1960-1970 he was concentrated in research in cutting edge technology. Sam Pitroda established a Switching Company named Wescom Switching; under this company he designed a new 580 DSS switch. Later he made a great invention named Electronic Diary in 1975. Then he designed another system called Compucards, Which is a computer themed card game. In this system decimal numbers are replaced by binary numbers. Mr.Sam Pitroda has been playing a major role for shaping India's foreign policies.
