The Indian Naval Academy located in Ezhimala, Kannur district of Kerala state, India is considered to be the initial officer training establishment of our Indian Navy here. The Indian Naval Academy Ezhimala was established in the year 8 January 2009. In India, every year 4 December is celebrated as the Indian Navy Day. In the 1971 war against Pakistan, Indian Navy played an important role for getting victory. Based on this success, since then every year December 4 is celebrated as the Indian navy day. Indian Navy- Safe Seas and Secure Coasts for a Strong Nation is the theme for this year.
A nature walk for children will be held on 22 November 2011. School children and special children will be allowed to visit the base on 26 November 2011 & 30 November 2011 from 8:30 AM to 1:00 PM respectively. Public will be given permission to see the naval base on 26 November 2011(1:00 PM to 5:00 PM) & 27 November 2011(9:00 AM to 5:00 PM). On 4 December 2011 there will be a fire power demonstration at the Ettikkulam Beach at 6:00 PM. On 6 December 2011 & 8 December 2011, the Indian Naval Academy Band will perform at Kannur & Payyannur. Some other events like navy ball & navy queen contest will also be held during these celebrations.
