Mohanlal vs Sukumar Azhikode Case - Azhikode withdraws defamation case against Lal

The ice between the two titans has melted as Sukumar Azhikode withdrew the defamation case against the Malyalam superstar Mohanlal on saturday. The months long cold war came to an end with a telephone conversation between the two icons and the signing of Azhikode on the file to withdraw the case. KR Radhakrishnan Nair and Leena Jayasurya, the lawyers of Mohanlal and Azhikode held the mediation process.
The reconciliation move was actually initiated by Azhikode after getting aware of his terminal illness. Azhikode has been confirmed to have cancer on the spinal cord. His condition is not so well. Azhikode has been admitted in Amala Hospital in Thrissur for a couple of days. He was admitted after he slipped and fell due to a sodium level fall in the blood circulation. The doctors ran a biopsy test to confirm the disease.
The lawyer of Azhikode informed Mohanlal's lawyer about his disease. He informed Mohanlal, who is in Dubai, the news. Mohanlal suggested him to meet Azhikode. The two stars then had a brief conversation over the phone. Mohanlal's mother Santhakumari also called from Thirvananthapuram and talked to Azhikode. Then he signed in the petition to withdraw the case in the presence of both advocates. Azhikode said he was very happy to withdraw the case against Mohanlal and he doesn't harbour any ill feelings towards anyone.
It was a comment from Mohanlal during a channel interview that raised the controversy. It was related to the AMMA- Thilakan clash then. Mohanlal opined Azhikode might had 'hallucination'. This aroused Azhikode and he filed the case in January. Mohanlal had got bail in the case recently.
Job oriented
It is a welcome solution to that unwanted controversy between two stalwarts. Both the personalities are highly respected by the people in their respective fields. Both would have taken this step earlier without dragging the media to this case. Anyway it is better to be late than never.
